Turning on two-factor authentication

An extra lock on your account: a code from your phone alongside your password.

With two-factor authentication (2FA) you need, besides your password, a code from an authenticator app when signing in. That way someone with only your password can't get in.

Turning it on

  1. Go to Settings › Two-factor authentication.
  2. Scan the shown QR code with your authenticator app (for example Google Authenticator or Aegis).
  3. Enter the code from the app to confirm.
  4. Save your recovery codes somewhere safe — they get you in if you lose your phone. Confirm with I have saved my recovery codes.

Good to know

  • Next time you sign in, Debaty asks for the code after your password.
  • Under Where are you signed in? you see your devices and can sign out remotely.
