Turning on two-factor authentication
An extra lock on your account: a code from your phone alongside your password.
With two-factor authentication (2FA) you need, besides your password, a code from an authenticator app when signing in. That way someone with only your password can't get in.
Turning it on
- Go to Settings › Two-factor authentication.
- Scan the shown QR code with your authenticator app (for example Google Authenticator or Aegis).
- Enter the code from the app to confirm.
- Save your recovery codes somewhere safe — they get you in if you lose your phone. Confirm with I have saved my recovery codes.
Good to know
- Next time you sign in, Debaty asks for the code after your password.
- Under Where are you signed in? you see your devices and can sign out remotely.
