Verifying your identity
Become a verified person — free, EU-compliant, and without us keeping a copy of your ID.
Verifying makes you a verified person on Debaty and gives you the "Verified" badge next to your name. It is free and optional.
Step by step
- Go to Settings › Identity.
- Read the agreement about your data and tap Verify my identity.
- You go to our verification partner (Veriff, EU). There you complete a short step with your identity document.
- We only receive the outcome and award you the badge.
What we do and don't keep
- We do keep: the outcome (verified or not), which kind of document was used, whether you are 18+, and a session reference.
- We never keep: your name, your date of birth, or a photo/scan of your document.
