Following people and topics
Follow people and topics so your timeline fills with conversations you care about.
Your timeline fills with what you follow. The more you follow, the livelier your For you and Chronological timelines get.
Following someone
- Open a profile (tap a name or avatar).
- Tap Follow. To stop, tap the same button (now labelled Following).
Following a topic
- Tap a topic (for example under a bubble) to open its page.
- Tap Follow. Posts with that topic get more room in your timeline.
Friends and communities
- A friendship is mutual: both confirm. Your friends get their own tab, and "a friend posted this" is a signal of its own in the ranking — it adds to "you follow this person", because the score is a sum.
- A community is a public group around a topic; you find them under Groups. You can limit a bubble to its members, but a community is not private: anyone can see who its members are and join it themselves. See Who can see my posts?.
How much weight people and topics get is something you tune under Tuning your timeline.
