What is Debaty?

Debaty is a social platform built around conversation. You share short posts — bubbles — and you hold longer, structured debates in which positions are backed up with sources.

Unlike most platforms, the goal is not to capture as much attention as possible, but to have a good conversation. That is why a recommended post always carries Why am I seeing this?, and why we never sell your data — see How the timeline works.

A conversation or a debate?

When you start something, you decide how sharp it gets. Leave out the proposition and it is a conversation: people think along without picking a side. Add one and it becomes a debate, where replies go for, against or nuanced. See A question or a proposition?.
