Posting your first bubble
A bubble is a short post. Tap the plus button, write, and tap Post.
A bubble is a short post — a thought, a question, a link.
Step by step
- Tap the plus button with the pencil: at the bottom of the screen on mobile, or in the sidebar on desktop.
- Write your text in the field ("What's surfacing today?").
- Optionally set who can see it via Who can see this — Everyone, Followers only, Only me or Members of a community.
- Tap Post. Done — your bubble is on your timeline.
A note on "members of a community"
That choice narrows your reach, but it is not a private channel: a community is public, anyone can see who its members are and join it themselves. If you want to talk in confidence, use a direct message instead. See Who can see my posts?.
Adding more
- An image, GIF or video via the toolbar buttons. An image asks for a short alt text, so people who can't see can still follow along.
- A source or a poll to back up your post — see Adding sources.
- Who can reply decides who may join in under your bubble; anyone who sees the bubble can still read it (Replying and who can join in).
- Not finished? Tap Save as draft, or Schedule to have it posted automatically later (Scheduling posts).
Enjoying a conversation and want to go deeper? Grow your bubble into a full debate.
