Becoming an ambassador

What the ambassador programme is, how to apply, how long it takes and what you get.

The ambassador programme is a recognition programme for members who welcome others and set the tone. There is no payment and there are no targets to hit — the reward is visible recognition and a few concrete rights.

Applying

  1. Go to the ambassador page — it is also at the bottom of every page in the footer, and on Invite someone.
  2. Read what is expected of you and scroll to Apply.
  3. Write in your own words why you want to be an ambassador. The form asks three questions that help: what you already do, what you would help new members with, and which topic or group you want to reach.
  4. Choose whether you want to appear on the invitations leaderboard. That is optional and visible only to other ambassadors; you can switch it off later.
  5. Tap Send application.

If your text is too short to send, the field itself says how much more it needs. A few sentences is plenty.

What happens next

A person reads your application — there is no automatic assessment. Expect a few days to a week. There is no need to send anything again; you will hear from us once there is a decision.

If your application is not approved you will see that on the same page, with the reason if one was given. You are welcome to apply again afterwards.

What you get

  • The ambassador badge beside your name (see Badges and achievements).
  • Early access to features that are not switched on for everyone yet.
  • The right to curate starter packs for newcomers.
  • Your own ambassador space with your invitation figures, your early access and the opt-in leaderboard.

What you do not get: money, a private channel to the team, or priority in moderation. An ambassador is a member with a badge and three rights, not a staff member.

Stopping, or being revoked

If you would rather stop, let us know via Contact. Repeated violations of the guidelines can end the ambassadorship; the badge and the rights then disappear. You may apply again later even then.
