Tuning your timeline
Under "Your algorithm" you move the sliders on the signals that shape your timeline.
You decide how your timeline is built. Go to Settings › Timeline & accessibility — the page is called Your algorithm.
What you can adjust
- Default tab on open — For you, Chronological or Friends.
- Signals — set each to Off, Less, Standard or More:
- People you follow
- Your friends
- Topics you follow
- Topics you take part in
- Show posts from outside my network — on or off.
Off means genuinely off: that signal then doesn't count at all. Back to default resets everything.
Transparency
At the bottom, under What the timeline knows about me, you see exactly which choices your timeline uses — all your own settings, and also in your data export. Here you also set Hide reaction counts and Require alt text.
